Wedding guests are taken to the races

Louise & David celebrate with RM 2217

The Happy Couple
Louise, the daughter of Arriva Londons Engineering support manager Mike Trodden, was married in Bletchley, followed by a reception at Towcester racecourse. Many of the guests were chauffeured between the church and the racecourse in the Arriva Heritage Fleets RM 2217.
Mike said
Just a quick note to you all thanking you for your help in supplying the Routemaster for my daughter Louises wedding last Saturday. Everything was perfect. The guys arrived early at Towcester Race Course and, even though it had rained heavily on the way up, managed to wash off the road dirt and produce a vehicle which was in pristine condition.

Stately entrance
Everyone who rode on the vehicle - and that includes my wife and myself - plus everyone who saw it, commented on how magnificent it looked and indeed performed. It carried in excess of 100 people to and from the Church on a 40 mile return trip and that is apart from the return trip from Norwood to Towcester, and it never missed a beat.
I must also mention Peter Bennet and Dave Bridson, both of whom are excellent ambassadors for the Arriva Heritage Fleet and perfomed brilliantly on the day. They were inundated with questions regarding the bus and they supplied all the answers cheerfully and knowledgably.

Smiles all round
The professionalism of the staff and the fine presentation of RM2217 led immediately to more business for the Arriva Heritage Fleet as Louises wedding guests included colleagues from her company, Topps UK. They were so impressed by the idea of a classic bus that they booked the Arriva Heritage Fleets open-top Routemaster for one of their events at Fulham Football Club. (See Topps UK story)
